Privacy policy
BPN Shorts is a personal tool run by its developer, GitHub user GreasterBunny, on their own computer. This policy explains what it does with information from your Google account when you connect a YouTube channel to it.
What BPN Shorts accesses
When you connect a channel, BPN Shorts asks Google for two permissions:
- Upload videos (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload), so it can post Shorts to the channel you chose. - View your YouTube account (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly), used only to read the connected channel's name and ID, so the app can show which channel it's posting to.
It doesn't read your email, contacts, watch history, comments, or anything else in your Google account.
How it's used
This information is used only to upload videos to the channel you connected and to confirm which channel that is. It isn't used for advertising, isn't sold, and isn't used to train AI models.
Where it's stored
The sign-in tokens Google issues are stored only on the developer's own computer, in a folder that only their user account can read. They're sent only to Google, when the app talks to the YouTube API. BPN Shorts has no server or database of its own.
Sharing
BPN Shorts doesn't share, sell, or transfer Google user data to anyone.
To decide which moments to keep and how to title them, the app may send excerpts of public live-stream content to Anthropic's AI service: transcript text, chat messages and a few still frames. This never includes your Google account data, your sign-in tokens, or anything from your YouTube account.
Google API Services User Data Policy
BPN Shorts' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube API Services
BPN Shorts uses YouTube API Services. Uploading through it means you're also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
The sign-in tokens are kept until you revoke access or the app's folder is deleted. You can revoke BPN Shorts' access at any time in your Google Account permissions, which immediately stops it from uploading. Deleting the app's local folder removes the stored tokens and everything else it saved.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page and its effective date will be updated.
